My Day At Broome Camp

It was Wednesday and we all had to wake up. It was pretty early but everything was okay. I got up to change my pyjamas into my day clothes and so did everyone else in the boy’s dorm. We then all finished up and went to brush our teeth then we went outside. Since we were the breakfast setters and servers we had to go outside earlier then everyone else to set the food up for breakfast.

Then after we set the tables and had breakfast, we then changed into our rashes and shorts.  We went to the beach in the bus and had the legendary surf carnival. We had a relay around Yindi and Morph and then ran to the beach. We then did some surf boarding, we had fun. We then sadly had to leave the beach and head back to the bus for our Chinatown tour.

In Chinatown we then did an exploration and looked around. Chinatown was very pretty and cultural, to many tourists it is very beautiful and filled with relics.  After an hour or so of exploring it was time to head to the camp school and have a beach BBQ.

We walked down to the beach and had an Awesome BBQ! It was so delicious and lots of fun. I played Frisbee and Cricket with my buddies and pals, it was an amazing time!

Now it was time for the legendary Amazing Race! After we packed the BBQ we went back up to the camp school. I was ready for this as I had waited for the Amazing Race for 2 days, so I was exhilarated to be involved in this race!

So our first challenge was to make a paper airplane, then we did a hacky sack challenge near the boys dorm which was extremely hard.  We also had a challenge called Who is the Better Builder? then our next challenge was called SMILE, Aim and Shoot followed by Wobbles! And there was even more.

We were up to the last challenge but sadly we had ran outta time so then we went back to the dorm. We brushed our teeth then tucked into our beds ready to sleep in preparation to start a new day!

Broome Camp Recount

I usually don't wake up at 5am in the Moring. But today I was going to camp which I have been waiting to go to for a long time.  However I fell asleep at breakfast no joke, great start to my day!

I also get car sick so I thought the bus trip wouldn't be good but I did not get sick. After getting to the camp school we organized our dorms and went to bed, we had bunk beds.

The next day we went to Cable Beach and it was probably my favourite activity out of the whole camp because the waves were large enough to fully submerge you under water.  Also at the beach we went boogie boarding, that was FUN!

After we got back we then went to the Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Farm, that was a cool experience. We got to see our guide feed the crocodiles and risk getting his arm eaten. We saw one of the biggest crocodiles there, his name was Bluey, we also got to hold a baby crocodile and that was fun too.

On Wednesday we had a surf carnival and that was the most challenging thing out of the whole camp except for waking up early. We also had a beach BBQ, that was fun we saw a big crab and it pinched a student.  After we got back that was the most challenging night to fall asleep, because the majority of the boys were getting out of bed and playing with flashlights.

On Thursday we went camel riding and I kept thinking that it would bit me. But I learnt a bit about the camels and mine didn't stink!  We also had prusking and to me it felt repetitive.

The camp was fun and challenging and I look forward to going on camp again.

Alyssia's Camp Recount

"Beep, beep!"

We were on our way to Broome. We went there last week from the 5th to the 9th of September. We were there to try new things we had a great camp experience in Broome.

We finally arrived in Broome, we were so hungry and tired.  We had to learn the rules  for the camp my favourite was always smile and do the dishes.  Then we had to have a shower and go bed we hade to go to bed at 9:15pm.

On Tuesday Room 15 went to the Croc Farm. We met a croc named Bluey, he was a really big crocodile. We heard there were 2000 crocodiles living in the 2 parks. Malcolm Douglas the owner has  lots of different animals.  Some were so cute and cuddly, others were scary and violent. At the end of the tour we went to the gift shop and I got a glass crocodile.

On Wednesday we had to go straight to the beach for the surf carnival. Room 15 were kind of surfing but we were paddling really hard, it was so much fun at the beach.  That night we played the amazing race it was so challenging, my team tried so hard to get the answers right.

On Thursday when I was doing low ropes everything was so easy, because I was tiny and they had to fit me in the spider web and I was able to fit though easily.  When I was prusiking I had so much fun Room 15 had to hug and kiss the wood at the top of the climb. We finally arrived at the pearl farm that afternoon, and I got some pearl earrings and an oyster shell.

We had to go home on Friday so we packed our bags.  During the trip we had a silent auction I won a rubber ducky, which was quite funny!  I had so much fun on camp, I would like to do it again real soon.

Last week we went to Broome for our school camp and the things on camp were pretty fun.

On Monday, we departed from Tom Price so we would arrive at broome at a suitable time for dinner.

On Tuesday, we walked down to cable beach for some boogie boarding, after that we visited the crocodile park and after dinner we played a game called Team Feud.

On Wednesday, we went to a surf carnival at gantheaume Point, we went to Chinatown and we had a beach barbecue.

On Thursday we went to cable beach for some camel riding, then we did some prusiking and low ropes, after that we had an Astro Tour

Friday morning we left Broome to go back to Tom Price, it took us 12 hours to get home.

Last week we went to Broome for our school camp and the things on camp were pretty fun.

Broome Camp

On Monday my dad and I woke up at 4.30am to get ready and I was so excited. We went to the school teacher car park and we gave Mrs Rolton our money so she could keep it safe, we waited for the bus to get here. The bus driver  came and we had to give him our bag then we could get on the bus my dad and mum said goodbye and off we went. I went on my iPad and watched some movies on the DVD player, it was fun!


On Tuesday we went  on the bus and went to the crocodile park and I took some photos and we got to hold a baby croc it had a elastic around its mouth and they kept on wriggling around. We walked around the park and saw other animals like alligators, birds and even bluey the crocodile and dingoes. Then each group at a time went in the croc shop to buy stuff, if they wanted to buy stuff and then we took a photo and went back on the bus.

On Wednesday we went to the beach BBQ and we saw a crab, Alyssia and I made an aquarium for it and then we found some sea slugs and we named the crab and the sea slugs. For dinner we had a hot dog, I put some sauce on mine then I had a burger, it was so good. We had some photos then we had to leave before it got too dark and before we left we had an icy pole and I said thank you, We couldn't go back in the camp if we didn't have our pop stick when we walked in the gate.

On Thursday we went to Willie Creek Pearl Farm and they told us how the pearl was formed and it was a really long process.  Then we went on the boat and the tour girl said that there were crocodiles' in the water and I got scared.  We hoped of the boat and each group went into the shop one by one, there were really expensive items to buy, I got an oyster shell with my money it was really cool, when we finished we had to go back to the camp it was a bumpy ride.

On Friday we had to go back to Tom Price I slept most of the way, went on my iPad, and watched some movies on the DVD player.  I was sitting in the 2nd row down from the front behind Sarah.  Alyssia was sitting with me but then she moved and sat at the back of the bus on the way home.  We had an auction and I got a money tin with 50c in it. We got back early so I had to call my Dad to pick me up, he came to get me and we went home. It was the best time ever because Mrs Rolton put a lot of hard work into the camp.

Girls Weekend

 Girls Weekend  

On the weekend I went to my Auntie's house for the whole day with Mum, Chloe, Aunty Janelle, Sophie and I.  It was a girls day out!

 

Dad, Bailey and Dave had a guys day. First thing we did was have breakfast a 6:30am we had eggs, waffles, pancakes and bacon.

 

After breakfast I went in the pool with my cousin Sophie. After an hour or two we decided to get out because our skin turned all wrinkly. 

 

Before lunch Sophie and I went to Coles together to get some burger buns, some buger patties and some chips. After that we went home and had lunch.

 

After lunch we went to the nature park and had a dinner picnic. Then  we went home and went to bed because when we got home it was 9:49pm, way too late to be up!

Talk4Writing - Mythical Creatures

At Tom Price Primary School we are beginning a new adventure and teaching writing using the Talk4Writing program.  

Talk for Writing enables children to imitate the key language they need for a particular topic orally before they try reading and analysing it. Through fun activities that help them rehearse the tune of the language they need, followed by shared writing to show them how to craft their writing, children are helped to write in the same style.

This slide share was our whole school hook and had students hunting for mythical creatures around the school during recess and lunchtimes for a number of days after our hook assembly was held with our enthusiastic Principal engaging our students into the topic of Mythical Creatures.
